Safer Internet Day

Tuesday 9th February was Safer Internet Day. The day started with a whole school assembly where Paul Hay (who has trained with CEOP - Child Exploitation and Online Protection) introduced the day to the children and showed them a video about what keeping safe online means.

Paul then went to each Yr1 and 2 class to give more information and to answer the children's questions about internet safety.  The children did various activities during the day including making masks and posters connected to 'Lee and Kim's Adventure' and SID's Top Tips for staying safe online:     https://www.thinkuknow.co.uk/5_7/LeeandKim/

The Reception children heard the story - 'The Adventures of Smartie the Penguin'.  http://www.kidsmart.org.uk/teachers/KS1/readsmartie.aspx

At the end of the day the children presented what they had learnt during the day to their parents in a whole school assembly.

Finally Paul talked to the parents about internet safety.

Thank you to everyone who supported the day.

Care for oneself; Care for others; Care for the environment.
