What a great start to the summer term it has been. Already children have had a great time exploring 'how plants grow.' We read the story 'Jasper's Beanstalk' and our lovely year R's did a super job acting out parts of the story and working in a small group to re-tell the story using actions.
They all had so much fun planting their very own beans and all of them could remember everything they needed to do to make sure it could grow. One child said " if it doesn't get sunshine then the bean can't make roots." All children had a go at writing instructions of 'How to plant a bean seed" and they did very well indeed!
We have been observing the growth of our beans since the first week back and they've now started to grow. They are currently and gradually being taken from the children's individual pots to be planted outside so that the beans can grow as tall as possible using bamboo canes. Some children have chosen to take theirs home to plant it there. We can't wait to see how tall they will have grown by half term!
Keep looking to find out what else we get up to this half term :-)...
