Highlight of the Week!

This week in Year 1 we have been writing about what makes us special. We have been using exciting adjectives to describe our personality and appearance. In maths, we have been learning how to make teen numbers using dienes. Take a look at some of our fantastic work below!

This week in Year 1, we have been learning all about England! We have found out about traditional English dishes, the English flag and the Royal Family. We have had so much fun researching and writing sentences about England. It was also crazy hair day on Friday! All the children came into school with crazy Christmas hair, well done for all the effort you put in to making your hair look fantastic!

This week in Year 1, we have been learning all about Nepal. We have been focusing on traditional clothes, what the weather is like in Nepal, the two main religions and Mount Everest. We have learnt so much this week and it has been amazing looking at special items that have come all the way from Nepal! In English, we have been writing a factual sentence about what we have learnt!

Highlight of the Week!

This week in Year 1, we have been looking clothes from around the world. We have learnt about clothes from Scotland, Nepal, Japan and many more! It has been fascinating looking at at of these clothes and feeling the different materials. We have been discussing when people would wear these types of clothes and who would wear them. We even got to try on the clothes, we had so much fun! Take a look at the pictures of us in the clothes...

Highlight of the week!

This week in Year 1, we have been remembering the soldiers that fought in the war to help protect us. We held a 1 minute silence in our classroom to reflect on all they did for us. We have been doing lots of poppy craft. We have made a large poppy made out of tissue paper and we even used potatoes and printed red paint onto paper to make a poppy shape!

Highlight of the Week

This week at Farnborough Grange we have been taking part in 'Bright Futures Week'. We have been looking at what we want to be

when we are older! We have found out so much about a huge variety of jobs, we even watched a video sent to us by the NHS and learnt about different roles within the NHS! At the start of the week, we all drew what we want to be when we are older and put our clouds on the rainbow in our classroom. After being exposed to lots of new jobs, we then drew what we want to be when are older, again. Some of us changed our minds after finding out about jobs we didn't know about, but some stayed the same! We really enjoyed acting out different jobs and finding out about all the jobs that we could do when we are older!

Together, we grow our love for learning.
