Autumn Term

W/C 30th September

The children of Farnborough Grange Nursery have been braving the elements this week to explore what happens in Autumn, the first of our exciting learning enquiries.  The enquiry is closely linked to our new Key Group names, with children collecting objects from their respective trees and observing the many autumnal changes taking place.  So far the children have captured what they know about the season (mind maps can be found on the Key Group display boards), enjoyed a variety of Autumn walks and looked closely at effect on plants and the weather.

Next week the children will be investigating Autumn vegetables, including pumpkins, courgettes and swedes.  They will even have the opportunity to prepare, roast and taste some of these seasonal foods.  The children will also begin to learn an Autumn song, Autumn Leaves Are Falling Down.  To support your children with their learning, please feel free to listen to, maybe even sing, the song at home.  Thank you for your continued support.
