The key to developing handwriting skills, is to build the core and 'gross motor' movements, and then focus on the smaller hand 'fine motor' movements.

There are lots of fun activities to strengthen the fine motor muscles at home;

  • Playdoh
  • Threading - making pasta necklaces/snakes
  • Tracing
  • Bubble wrap popping
  • Using pegs

The list goes on!

Please find some links below that might give you some ideas below for how to support your child with their fine and gross motor skills.

Together, we grow our love for learning.
