Our School Council
In the coming days, Years 1 & 2 will be holding elections to find their new class representatives. Year R representatives will join us later on in the school year.
Here at Farnborough Grange, we believe it is vital for ALL children to have a voice and to feel as though their views and opinions count.
Each councillor has to ensure that the views of all of the children in their class are heard. They work hard to find ways of collecting the ideas and suggestions of the rest of the school by having:
Our School Council is led by Mrs Lloyd. We meet twice a month to talk about any issues that have been raised by the children in our class. Check back on here to see any of the great changes that take place thanks to our School Council.
Behaviour in School
The School Council met to discuss the new behaviour policy that is in place from Nursery-Year 2. Collectively, they discussed the use of Dojo Points which children can earn for a range of reasons, including good manners, trying their best in their learning and tidying up. The children then went back to their classes to ask for more opinions and the children all agreed that they LOVE Dojo Points! We will continue to review our Behaviour Policy in September once our new School Council are elected.
On Tuesday 19th March, we were very excited as we have two visitors - Kath & Andy - from Rushmoor Borough Council! They joined our School Council meeting and listened to our ideas on what we would love to see in the newly developed Moor Road playground. We shared the ideas of our friends in class and some of these included: an in-ground trampoline, a 'curly wurly' slide, picnic benches, a roundabout and a climbing frame.
Kath & Andy will now take our ideas back to the council and they will visit us in a few weeks time to show us the proposed design plans for Moor Road playground. Keep checking back on here for more information!
