Highlight of the week:

Week beginning 5.12.22

This week we have continued our learning about Christmas. The children have enjoyed creating their Christmas cards for their families and learning our special songs for our carol concert. We enjoyed having our families in after the concert to join us for a variety of Christmas craft activities. 

Week beginning 28.11.22

This week we have been learning the story 'The Jolly Christmas Postman' by Janet Alhberg. The children have enjoyed working through the story and seeing all of the different characters that the postman delivers letters too. 

Week beginning 21.11.22

This week we have continued our learning centered around We are Going on a Bear Hunt. The children have now learnt the story really well and have enjoyed creating binoculars to find the bear in our nursery! In the forest, we created our own leaf printing using leaves from the forest and paint. 

Week beginning 14.11.22

This week we have centred our learning around the story We are Going on a Bear Hunt by Micheal Rosen. The children have enjoyed learning the repeated phrases in the story and acting it out using small world characters. In the forest we went on an Autumn leaf hunt and used our checklists to tick off what we could find. 

Week beginning 7.11.22

This week we have continued our learning about Autumn and started to learn about making patterns using a range of resources such as pine cones and leaves. We have also been experimenting with using forks in our paint to create a hedgehog. 

Week beginning 31.10.22

This week we have started learning about the season Autumn. We looked at the Autumn leaves in the forest and created our own 'fireworks' using sticks and coloured strings.
